Frequently Asked Questions

How is GPA calculated?

GPA = Sum of (Grade Points × Credit Hours) ÷ Total Credit Hours. A 4-credit course has more impact on your GPA than a 2-credit course, which is why the calculator uses weighted averages.

Which grading scales are supported?

This calculator supports: US 4.0 (letter grades), UK Honours (1st / 2:1 / 2:2 / 3rd / Pass / Fail), Pakistan & India (percentage / CGPA out of 4.0), Germany (1.0 – 5.0 scale), Australia (HD/D/C/P/F), and a Custom scale where you set your own maximum.

What does the Target GPA calculator do?

Enter your current GPA, completed credits, remaining credits, and your goal GPA. The calculator tells you exactly what GPA you need in your remaining courses — and whether it's achievable.

How many courses can I add?

You can add as many courses as you need — just click "+ Add Course" to add more rows to the table.

How does the German grading scale work?

In Germany, grades run 1.0 (best) to 4.0 (passing) and 5.0 (fail) — the opposite of most scales. This calculator converts German grades so the meter and results always make sense in context.
